Crispy almond chicken

This dish is a family favorite, everyone likes fried chicken, but here is a healthier way to prepare it. Coat it with almonds as well to provide a more nutritional meal for you and your loved ones.


  • 200g skinless chicken breast
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons almond flakes
  • ½ teaspoon snipped fresh thyme


  • 1. Rinse chicken breast and pat dry with paper towel
  • 2. Cut chicken in 2 pieces
  • 3. Place flour in a shallow dish
  • 4. In a second shallow dish place whisk together egg and milk
  • 5. In a third shallow dish combine bread crumbs, almond and thyme
  • 6. Coat all sides of filet with flour then in egg mixture and finally into crumbs mixture
  • 7. Fry the coated chicken breasts until golden
  • 8. For the potato wedges, drizzle olive oil, add garlic powder, paprika and salt (quantities as per taste)
