Why does the power button on my Philips TV switch the TV to standby instead of switching the TV off?
The TV power button works in the same way as the standby button on the remote control. This TV does not have the option to completely switch off the TV.
If you do not wish to see the standby indicator while the TV is in standby mode, you may switch off the standby indicator in the TV menu [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Preferences] > [Standby LED].
