I bought this steam generator iron to replace an iron that had stopped working, I was very apprehensive at first as it was a lit pf money and I had never spent that amount of money on an iron before. I' glad I did as I love it, it makes ironing a joy to do and an absolute breeze. This is by far the best iron I have ever had and I would recommend it to anybody thatlikes their clothes looking sarp and crease free.

After my previous Phillips steam iron gave up the ghost after 20 years of loyal service. I decided to replace it with the newest Phillips iron and I’m so glad I did, it really does ‘glide’ and is so much faster than my Previous one, it is expensive but well worth while. Definitely recommend it.

I bought this to replace my PerfectCare Silence steam generator iron, which is no longer manufactured. This generates more steam BUT (and this is the reason for the three star rating) it drips! I work primarily on wedding dresses and this iron can be unreliable when it starts up. It’s absolutely great for cottons/linens etc . It’s also quite noisy when it’s heating up. Overall, it’s ok but that’s all.

I'm guessing most other reviews are after a few days or weeks of using. We loved it for 2 years but at this price point... it should last. Ours has been used once a week for family ironing. Then it completely packed up. Stopped working and Philips charge too much for repair. I would not recommend to buy it given the short lifespan.
