This a great product . Results are great. I love a fresh made coffee and the choices are excellent. Even when you have a latte you get the 3 layered affect. Tastes great and the way you can customise your drink makes your coffee perfectly, just as you like it. Haven’t had any ground coffee since purchasing this machine.If you can get it at a reduced price like I did even better.all round exceptional machine , definitely recommend.

2 x failed DeLonge. Upped my game to this amazing machine. Just done 1st descale after 2 months. Consistent very hot coffee every time. Menu can be personalised to each profile. One off my best ever purchases. Buy you won't be disappointed.

I am very pleased with this coffee maker. It is so easy to use and no faffing making coffee then steaming milk in a jug. You can program the coffee to your taste or use the pre sets. The travel mug option was inspired and means I can take decent coffee with me when I go out. I highly recommend this machine.

I recently purchased this machine to replace an older model by a 'premium' coffee brand, mainly because my old machine didn't offer a lot of control and didn't feature many recipes. This Philips 5500 is superb and I was able to get great coffee far quicker than when I first purchased my old machine - the secret is to turn the grinder setting to 3-4 before you even put any beans in, you'll be brewing great coffee much faster that way. It's worth noting that all bean-to-cup machines require some fine tuning to get the perfect cup, but it's fun playing with the settings and this machine is very clear and easy to use thanks to the display. The grinder is many times quieter than my previous machine, and the beans don't get stuck in the hopper which was also a problem with my last machine. The temperature of the drinks is much hotter too, and I rarely need to warm my cup anymore which is convenient. It's not very clear what is different about the 5500 vs the 5400, but the 5500 has additional iced coffee recipes as well as other small improvements. The Lattego milk system works well and is very convenient. Each 'recipe' is easy to fine tune using the clear on-creen graph of strength/coffee volume/milk volume and there are multiple profiles that you can store your personal settings in. The water tank is in a convenient position, it's easy to see the level and easy to remove and refill. The only slight negative I would say is that it doesn't feel as robustly built as my old machine, but that is outweighed by the functionality and ergonomics. This machine is excellent value for money.
