The Calc-Clean light on my Philips Steam Generator Iron keeps blinking

Published on 04 September 2024
When the Calc-Clean light is blinking and you hear a beeping sound, it means it is time to descale your Philips Steam Generator Iron.
Note: The steam generator iron will not produce steam and will not heat up when the Calc Clean light is activated. This can also happen while you are ironing. It is recommended to perform the Calc-Clean as soon as the light starts blinking. Then follow the steps below:
  1. Ensure that the water tank is half filled with water.
  2. Place the Calc-Clean container on a flat and stable surface.
  3. Place the iron on the Calc-Clean container.
  4. Press and hold the Calc-Clean button for two seconds until you hear a short beep.
  5. Calc Clean process will start. You will hear short beeps and a pumping sound. Hot water and steam will be emitted. This will take approximately two minutes.
  6. The iron will stop beeping when the Calc-Clean process is complete.
  7. Wipe the iron dry with a piece of cloth.
  8.  Wait for the Calc-Clean container to cool down. Empty the Calc-Clean container.

Note: If you were using the steam generator iron and it is still hot, please allow it enough time to cool down completely (approximately two hours) and for the pressurized steam to dissipate. Then follow the steps below:
  1. Unplug the plug from the wall socket.
  2. Place the appliance on the edge of the tabletop.
  3. Hold a cup (with a capacity of at least 350ml) under the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob anticlockwise.
  4. Remove the EASY DE-CALC knob and let the water with scale particles flow into the cup.
  5. When no more water comes out of the appliance, reinsert the EASY DECALC knob and turn it clockwise to fasten it.
  6. The iron will stop beeping when the Calc-Clean process is complete.
  7. You can continue using your iron immediately after completing the EASY DE-CALC procedure.
