One or more channels are missing from my Philips TV

Make sure that your TV has the latest software installed.

To read the Firmware Instructions, Firmware History or download the latest software for your TV, click the link under the ‘Attachments' section on the FAQ page.

Make sure that you have switched to the channel list that stored all the channels.

Follow these procedures to check the channel list:

  1. Press the [List] button on the remote control to display the channel grid.
  2. Press the [Options] button to display the options menu.
  3. Select [Select List] and press the cursor [Right].
  4. Check if you have selected the correct channel list.
  5. If you are not sure of the channel list used, select [All] and press the [OK] button to confirm.
  6. Press the [List] button to exit the channel grid.

Follow these steps to unhide the channels:

1) Press the [List] button on the remote control to display the channel grid.
2) Press the [Options] button to display the options menu.
3) Select [Show hidden channels] and the press [OK] button to display the hidden channels.

Note: The hidden channel is displayed with a letter H in the channel grid.

4) The TV exits the options menu automatically and returns to the channel grid.
5) Use the cursor buttons [Up], [Down], [Left] and [Right] to select the channel you wish to unhide.
6) Press the [Options] button, select [Unhide channel] and press the [OK] button.
7) The TV exits the options menu automatically and returns to the channel grid.
8) Repeat step 5 and 6 if you wish to unhide more channels.
9) Once completed, press the [Options] button.
10) Select [Exit] and press the [OK] button.
11) Press the [List] button to exit the channel grid.

The channel frequency may have been changed. You are able to individually add the missing channel(s) by following these steps:

1) Press the [Home] button on the remote control to access the home menu.
2) Use the cursor buttons [Up], [Down], [Left] and [Right] to select [Setup] and press the [OK] button to confirm.
3) Select [Channel settings] and press the [OK] button.

4) Select [Channel installation] and press the [OK] button.
5) If the channel lock is activated, the screen will prompt you to enter your PIN code. If you have forgotten your PIN code, you can reset the PIN code in the [Setup] > [Channel settings] > [Child lock] > [Change code] menu.
6) Select [Analogue: Manual antenna installation] and press the [OK] button.
7) Select [Colour system] and [Sound system], and press the [OK] button.

  • Use the cursor [Up] or [Down] to set to the correct colour or sound system
  • If you are not sure of the colour or sound system used in your location, select [AUTO] and press the [OK] button to confirm

8) Press the cursor [Down] to select [Find channel] and press the [OK] button.

  • Enter the 3 digit frequency of the channel you wish to add using the numeric buttons on the remote control and press the [OK] button twice.
  • If you do not have the channel frequency at hand, press the [OK] button twice to automatically search for the channel. The searching will stop once a channel is found. If you wish to continue searching, select [Search] and press the [OK] button.

9) Once the channel is found, press the [Back] button twice.
10) Press the cursor [Down] to select [Store as new channel] and press the [OK] button.
11) Select [OK] and press the [OK] button to store the frequency.
12) If you wish to add another channel, repeat steps 7 to 11.
13) Press the [Back] button to exit the menu.

If you need to add more channels, you should try to perform search for channels again to restore all the channels in the TV memory.

If no improvement is observed after you have performed the full channel installation, consult your cable provider or broadcaster for information related to the missing channels.
